We walk with our youth — not past them.
Florida Youth Mission is a community of mentors, coaches, and neighbors serving inner-city youth across Palm Beach, Lake Worth, and Miami-Dade. Our approach is simple and stubborn: Family, Leadership, and Strong Positive Morals — woven into every program, every relationship, every week.
Our Story
Built by neighbors who refused to settle for one good event.
Florida Youth Mission was founded as a Florida 501(c)(3) by a group of community leaders, coaches, and parents who kept noticing the same pattern: a youth would show up to a great program, get a t-shirt and a meal, and then go right back to a life with no one walking next to them.
We built FYM around the relationships, not the events. A mentor who shows up every Tuesday. A coach who knows the teachers. A life-skills class that ends with the youth leading their own project. We started small — one site, a few mentors, a handful of kids — and grew the way that work grows: by being trustworthy week after week.
Today FYM operates across three counties, but our shape hasn't changed. Every program is tied back to the same three things — Family, Leadership, Strong Positive Morals — because that is what we have seen build whole adults out of overlooked kids.

Leadership
Every youth is treated as a leader-in-training. We coach decision-making, ownership, and the courage to lead in their own neighborhoods.

We name what's right and stand by it. Conflict, money, integrity, respect — taught for real life, not for a test.

Our longest-running mentorship base — youth-led leadership projects and family-style Saturday programming.

Job skills cohorts and sports clinics with deep roots in inner-city neighborhoods and trade-pathway partners.

Recruits, trains, and supports our volunteer mentor network across all three service counties.

Builds partnerships with schools, agencies, and employers so our youth have real pathways after the program.
